Gardening and My Grandfathers

Both my grandfathers are avid gardeners. One owned a plot of land behind his house where he grew pomegranate, lemons, chickoo, jasmines and roses while another had a balcony where he grew rain lilies and money plants.

As a child, I was in awe of both my grandfathers because they were very respectful of people and all living things. They nurtured their gardens and me in the same breath. It is from them that I get my love for gardening and tinkering around in the soil.

I am so attuned to the rhythms of nature like the smell of summer rain, the October heat, the Kal Baisakhi, I almost feel in my bones the call to plough the earth. Do you feel close to Nature? If so, what aspects of the natural world call out to you? Let me know.
