RANGBULL – An Offbeat Place to Explore

Rangbull

I had been to some offbeat places near Darjeeling very recently. Today I am going to tell you about an offbeat place called Rangbull.  Have you heard the name of this place ever before? Yes, this is the  place of cloud, unspeakable silence, and eye catching nature’s beauty. We went through Darjeeling. It took almost 1.30 – 1.45 minutes to reach there. From Kalej Valley Tea Estate, we had to go about 3 kilometres to avail our Homestay – Rainbow Valley  Resort.  We were 6 heads in our group and availed a Jeep of capacity of 8. The approach road of 3 kilometres to Rainbow Valley Resort was absolutely harden and we had to sit in the car very carefully.  The road was very narrow. The Resort is very colourful and we had to go down a little to reach our room. However, they are on the job of extending room capacity within near future. The  resort is surrounded by tea gardens and mountains.

Rangbull is also famous for  a Waterfalls named Rainbow Falls.  From the Resort we went 1 kilometre by car and we had to  get off a place from where, there was no other way but to walk down to reach the point.

Rainbow Waterfalls

The road to waterfalls is so narrow and we had to go down a lot with much difficulties. We descended along the rocky step. Occasionally there was a slippery slope while walking on wet moss. After 45 minutes of walking, we reached there. As per the local people, a rainbow is seen over the falls if there is sunlight. But  it was almost cloudy and we did not see the rainbow over the falls though when we finally saw the waterfalls, we had sunlight for a little while. All sufferings came to an end when we saw the RAINBOW WATERFALLS.

Needless to say that Rainbow Waterfalls  is very beautiful and we got to see the amazing beauty of nature. Now it was time to go up. For us it was difficult to get down but it was really very tough to get up.  On the way to the waterfalls, we saw some shelters where the visitors could take some rests. We had also took some rests in one of the shelters on our way back  because it was raining for a while.  After 1 hour, we finally reached towards our car. The journey to falls was very hard for us, but it was worth.

In the evening we had a wonderful time. It was raining outside and the clouds were floating apart while surroundings were covered with clouds. When rain stopped, they arranged for us bonfire along with mouth-watering chicken kebabs.

Next day, after breakfast we checked-out from the resort. Here I can tell you that the quality of food they served was really as good as home cooked and we were really satisfied with their hospitality and warm reception.
